Justin Bieber...A name that had everyone on their toes when he was announced as a headliner for the 2026 lineup. It has been four years since Bieber performed on a large stage, and people have been skeptical about his return. Bieber has been criticized for his return amid concerns about his behavior and health, as well as a tabloid frenzy. However, these reasons did not prevent Bieber from performing at Coachella.

Bieber has not been idle during his comeback. In 2025, he surprised the crowd by appearing alongside SZA. Then, at the 2026 Grammy Awards, he turned heads by performing his song "Yukon" shirtless, ensuring all eyes were on him. A week before Coachella, he performed at the legendary Troubadour and The Roxy in West Hollywood for some of his fans. Months have passed, and well.... Here, we are in the month of April. Coachella. Biber is set for night two on the main stage. He began his set performing songs from his SWAG and SWAG II albums. "All I Can Take" was his first song of the night. Followed along with performances of the song "Stay" with The Kid Laroi.

Bieber’s performance felt like peeling back the layers to reveal his raw core, as he delivered intimate renditions of "Go Baby" and "Walking Away," the latter a heartfelt tribute to his family and the hurdles he has faced. The audience seemed split between awe and uncertainty, as Bieber, joined by Carter Lang and Dylan Wiggins, offered a mellow acoustic set with songs like "Glory Voice”, “Memo," "Zuma House," and a lingering, soulful "Everything Hallelujah."

I found myself swept up in the magic, especially during his 25-minute set, where he performed with just his laptop and revisited old YouTube videos. It transported me back to my early college years, when Bieber’s music was the soundtrack of my school days. Hearing his iconic hit "Baby" again, I was reminded of his journey through highs and lows, all distilled into this honest, stripped-back performance. Whether you loved or hated his Coachella performance, I believe it signals that Bieber is just getting started on an exciting new chapter.
